At darVida, we are more than doulas– we are a mother-daughter team dedicated to giving life, love, and support to families during one of life’s most sacred moments. Our name, inspired by the Spanish words ‘dar’ (to give) and ‘vida’ (life), reflects our mission to nurture and empower you through birth and beyond.
My (Aneliz) love for births and respect for the job of a doula began almost 18 years ago, when I began my journey into motherhood and experienced birth for the first time, with an amazing friend that served as my doula. Later in the birth of my fourth daughter, I was blessed to have a knowledgeable doula who was also bilingual (Arabic and English) and was able to help me navigate birth in a foreign country with a language I was not familiar with. My other births, all in different settings (hospital with midwives, traditional hospital, birth center and at home) were all amazing experiences because of the women who supported me. They inspired me to want to give that same life-giving support to other women. Since then, I have been able to help friends and family in their journeys into motherhood, but now I have the opportunity to serve more women, with even more knowledge from our training; and I get to do it with my beautiful firstborn daughter, Anaiah.
My (Anaiah) love for births began 8 years ago, when I witnessed my mom giving birth to my brother with the support of amazing midwives. After that, I knew I wanted to serve in that way also. Fast forward to 2025 we were given the amazing opportunity to be trained as doulas with DONA International here in Kansas City, MO where we reside, to serve as bilingual doulas. The knowledge we both received and will continue to receive through continuing education and the shared stories of births we have experienced in the past, allows us to offer a unique, family-like support system to every client.
Fluent in both English and Spanish we’re proud to serve diverse families, ensuring every client feels heard and understood. We provide evidence-based support tailored to your needs. Whether it’s preparing you for birth with practical tools, guiding you through labor, offering postpartum care, or sharing resources, we’re here to empower you with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
